Fundraise for Waikato Women’s Refuge
Every week, more than 75 families reach out to Waikato Women’s Refuge seeking safety, support—and often, food. By starting your own fundraising event, you can be the reason a woman and her tamariki get the help they need. Whether you’re flying solo, working with your team, or rallying your school or community group, your event can create real change.

Here are some ideas to get you started
There’s no one way to fundraise - just choose what works for you!
- Offer a service: Host a yoga class, offer haircuts, or babysit for donations
- Donate a % of sales: Got a business? Give back by donating a portion of your revenue for a day, week, or month.
- Take on a challenge: Run a marathon, walk 100km, or brave a midwinter swim.
- Host an event: Try a quiz night, concert, raffle, clothes swap or shared meal.
- School fundraisers: Hold a cake stall, mufti day or Valentine’s Day fundraiser—WWR can be your charity of choice.
